Shannon over at Rocks in My Dryer is hosting the Bloggy Giveaways Carnival: Winter '08 Edition.
I've decided to play along, and I wanted my giveaway to reflect me and my blog. I know how important our prayer lives are, but it is an area where I often feel like I'm in a rut. Beth Moore (I love her!) introduced me to her own prayer journal on her blog. It comes from Debbie Williams and Hill Country Ministries. I ordered one, and although I've only had it a short time, I can see how it's going to be a big blessing. It's going to be a wonderful tool to help my prayer life flourish!
And I want to share it with you! So, I'm giving away another copy of that very same prayer journal, as well as a set of "Praying God's Word" notecards.
Just leave me a comment telling me about your prayer life, good or bad. I just want to know where you are in your journey. I will use a Random Number Generator to choose a winner. Contest closes at Noon EST on February 2. Any comments placed after that time will not be considered in the drawing.
So leave me a comment, tell all your friends about the cool new blog you just found :-), share a little linky love, and Enjoy the Carnival!
Giveaway is now closed. Thanks for stopping by! Check back for the post announcing the winner!
Im really trying to live my life as a prayer and hope this can help me.

Oh! I've been wanting Beths' 'Praying God's Word' cards for a while now!! My Prayer life is alright. I mean I talk to God throughout the day. I know when I'm in a ditch and I really need Him, I tend to spend more time praying to Him then when everything seems to be peachy keen I guess. I want to improve my Prayer life, more solitude w/Him!
ReplyDeleteI keep a prayer journal and pray a lot. At night before bed, i pray aloud to Him. I find it amazing and completely awesome that we can talk with our Creator! Thank you for this chance! :)
ReplyDeleteThis seems like a very nice set. I am trying to grow in my prayer life right now. I am trying to start a journal and such.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great giveaway. I have been wanting to organize all of my "prayer supplies". I feel like my quiet time is not consistent. I am a very organized gal, and this is one area (& the most important area!!)where I feel disjointed. Thanks for the great giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteCount me in! Great giveaway! Thanks!
ReplyDeletePrayer is such an important aspect of my Christian walk. I am learning how to pray according to scripture right now. Thank you for this great give away! I hope I win!
ReplyDeleteTM
This sounds wonderful. I also read about this journal on the LPM blog, so I guess that makes us "siestas"!
ReplyDeleteThanks for wanting to bless someone else!
How nice of you to be part of this giveaway, and I'd love to have my name included. As for my prayer life: I am always striving to be closer to God and to speak to Him daily. One of my resolutions this year was to be more intentional about my quiet time. This would be a wonderful tool. Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteMy prayer life is a work in progress! I'm working on it though!
ReplyDelete( nice blog by the way, I enjoyed browsing through it, found you through Faith Lifts!)
My prayer life is on the go. I have an 18 month old and I feel like I pray all the time, but always in a hurry. I would love to start making time to sit alone in quietness and talk with God. Maybe this can help me!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
I am a work in progress...I had a class last semester and learned so much about prayer and the discipline of prayer...it is a journey and one I am enjoying :o)
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat giveaway :o)
What a fabulous prize! I would love to win and utilize your journal and God's Word Cards. I do not pray as much as I need to. Part of that is not letting go of worry and letting God handle more in my life. Please enter me in your drawing. Many thanks, Cindi
ReplyDeletejchoppes[at]hotmail[dot]com
Cool - I saw this on her blog! I just started her book on Jesus - 90 days with the one and only!
ReplyDeletePraying is a struggle for me. I wake up with great intentions then life and all of its distraction bombard me. What an awesome give away!! Thanks!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great give away. I often struggle in my prayer life and I can easily get into a rut. These prayer cards would be wonderful to refresh my prayer time.
ReplyDeleteBeth Moore is so good. I have done a few of her studies. I am a newlywed, will be celebrating my first anniversary in March. Days after I married in America, I was moving in to my new home in Australia, and have been neglecting my prayer life ever since. Adjusting to a new culture and married life have taken precedence...and I know I am the one who is hurting from it.
ReplyDeleteI'm working hard to model a life a prayer for my 3 little girls throughout each day - some days are much more successful than others!
ReplyDeleteMy prayer life? I find myself praying little prayers throughout the day. Thanks!
ReplyDeletethank you for offering this.
ReplyDeleteI have been thinking about getting a journal to focus my prayer time. This looks wonderful. Thanks, Michelle (mlb AT springmail DOT com)
ReplyDeleteDue to first trimester blecks, my prayer life has been more whining that anything else, but when I have taken time to seek Him, He is faithful to answer (I won't write you a book here...).
ReplyDeleteBeth Moore's works are truley helpful.
I read Power of a Praying Wife last fall and it really kick-started my prayer life. God's been doing amazing things in my family since I've made prayer a priority!
ReplyDeleteOh boy. My prayer life usually sounds something like "Okay, Lord. Now what?!"
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing the difference in the kids when you daily lift them up to the Father..just the little attitudes and demeanor....thank the good Lord that He is always just a prayer away! Thanks for the other...we love Beth Moore!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful giveaway. My prayer life is much better since my hubby is deployed. I don't praise the Lord as much as I should for all of the simple prayers that He answers. I praise Him for the big answers, but I tend to let the other praises slide. I need to focus more on that. I didn't mean to write a book; your question just made me think. lol! Have a wonderful day and thank you!
ReplyDeleteMy prayer life could definitely use help. One of my goals for 2008 is to develop good personal Bible study habits and good prayer habits...I have a long way to go!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great giveaway. Count me in!
ReplyDeleteMy prayer life right now is one of random life. I shout out prayer of thanks all the time and prayers for help often. With young children and a new baby, I don't have scheduled time to pray. But when I'm nursing, I certainly have time to do it!
please count me in.
ReplyDeleteFabulous! I'm in as I love Beth!
ReplyDeleteMe! Me!
ReplyDeleteI would love this. My prayer life is hurried. I am a single mom (my husband is in Iraq) to a 3 month old. My prayers are usually in the morning and night with a few pop ups during the day. I need a more structured "quiet time".
ReplyDeleteI try to keep my prayers very structured, as it helps orient my school work as well- I schedule study times near prayer times to keep things focused and simple.
ReplyDeleteThanks
Margaret

Great giveaway. I have been wanting to get the PGW prayer cards! I need a new journal to keep track of answered prayers.
ReplyDeleteMy prayer life is decent, but there's plenty of room for improvement!
ReplyDeleteThis would definitely be a help to me...it's so hard to find the time during the day..then at night, I am just exhausted!
ReplyDeleteThanks for giving away something that can really make an impact on someone's life!
After having my son last year my prayer life fell apart, but after 11 months I am getting back on track.
ReplyDeleteMy prayer life is good. I just finished reading a a 40 day devotional by Dr. Michael Beckwith - 40 day mind fast, soul feast. It is AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteGREAT giveaway! I'm hoping I win this! :) Thanks for participating.
Please enter me for your giveaway!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds great!

Praying with others has been a big blessing to me. I'd love to learn more and do more prayer-related stuff.
ReplyDeleteMy prayer life isn't that great right now and I would love an extra jump start.
ReplyDeleteLove the journal.
ReplyDeleteI am facing many life uncertainties right now - we are a military family about to make another cross-country move. I need to be certain that I am nurturing my prayer life and faith to be certain that we are following where the Lord is leading us. I also find I tend to not express thankful prayers as often as I should.
ReplyDeleteI thought this would be cool to win. But then you asked me about my prayer life. Um, well, it's well, non-existant right now. And I'd rather not admit that because it's not the way I'd like to be. So, I'll work on that regardless if I win or not. Because someone probably would like to hear from me. :)
ReplyDeleteHow did I miss this?! Well, I dunno, maybe because there are umpteenmillion giveaways going on! So glad I have you on my bloglines!
ReplyDeleteAnyway...
My prayer life... ohh... what an intimate question. A good question, too!
I bought a three ring binder to keep up with my prayers and the answers, but, well, the three ring binder is still empty. I'm praying, I'm just not recording. I want to record so that I can be encouraged at all the answered prayers (whether yes or no).
I pray at mealtime with my boys and at bedtime with them and by myself, but I sometimes feel it lacking. Not God, me. I really need to do a better job at being consistent and intentional about what/who/when/why I pray.
Well, I didn't mean to give you such an intimate answer... but you asked... and I know you're an A.O.K. blogger buddy! :) I trust ya!
Thanks for the great giveaway and for the gentle reminder to think more about my prayer life!
Some days I spend mostly in prayer, asking God's help at work or with some other situation, thanking Him for something He's shown me. It seems though, more often than not, those prayer times are pushed to another hour or day. This has been a focus for me to work on this year though. Already, I'm praying more alone, and more an more with groups.
ReplyDeletePlease enter me!I get easily distracted when I pray. Thank you for offering such a nice prize. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the journal and I love beth moore! Being on bed rest has only grown my prayer life, thats for sure. God is so good!
ReplyDeleteI am trying to be more purposeful in my prayer time.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway :)
ReplyDeleteI am a 'pray continually' kinda girl, but struggle with setting time aside to just sit and pray!!
ReplyDeleteGreat give away!!
charlainej@hotmail.com
I have yet to find a time to set apat for prayer -- I talk to God thoughout the day, but I tend to get distracted when I tr to concentrate on prayer.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds Marvellous Darrrrrling . . . it would be an honored to win. Blessings ~ Trina
ReplyDeleteBIG BETH MOORE FAN!!!
What a lovely package!
ReplyDeleteWell, I should be much farther in my prayer life than I am, but I kind of took a dive with a bad life hit, but I want to get back into the daily quiet times and logging God's answers.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very special gift. I pray daily for my family.
ReplyDeleteI am a pastor's wife. We have been through so much in the past year or so that I began to doubt the effectiveness of my prayers. The Lord has me in His grip. I am sure of that! I am really trying to get back to the pure faith that I used to have. Please enter me! ernestsgirl82@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteWhat a great giveaway! Please enter me, arogers(at)gmail(dot)com
ReplyDeleteGreat Give a way!
ReplyDeleteI pray without ceasing. Fast as well.
Blessings to you!
I try to pray daily but it can be hard to make time for uninterrupted prayer.
ReplyDeleteI'm really hoping I win a prayer journal in the Carnival - I'm so excited that so many are being given away. My prayer life is certainly NOT what it once was, and I'm struggling to get back on track. Between a busy toddler, a relocation to a new state far from family, my husband's new job (and new budgeting -yipes!- restrictions)... I've really let 'life' get in the way.
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing this giveaway.
fizzledink(at)gmail(dot)com
I'm trying to get into the habit of constant prayer. Just talking to God about everything, all day. Prayer is such a blessing because it brings me even closer to my Saviour and keeps me at peace knowing that I can depend on Him no matter what comes my way.
ReplyDeleteThis would be perfect for me to get started on a better prayer life...I'm kind of a distractable pray-er, so this would definitely help to keep me in line! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThe notecards look like an answer to prayer. I have made a New Years goal to get my act together, in relation to daily Bible study and prayer. Would love to have the give away.
ReplyDeleteThis is really nice - thank you for the thoughtful giveaway.

A friend & I have been praying together weekly for the last 2 years and it's done a lot for me.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great giveaway! I'd love to participate!
ReplyDeleteHonestly, my prayer life could use a boost... I go to bed so many nights and realize I haven't had time to give some quiet time to Him. This would be a fantastic gift!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful of a gift you've chosen. I am a true believer of prayer and I know whole heartedly that God answers...even if it's a no! Would love to own this.
ReplyDeleteKathy
Wow...I'm new to blogging (except regular checking of my friend Misty's site) but was intrigued by this blogger giveaway thing and happened upon your site.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to participate in your giveaway and be considered. Sad to say, my prayer life could use a major boost. I work full-time and have a son who is 11 and maintains a very social and athletic schedule for me to keep up with. I would love this book to throw into my bag to read in my car and in between my audits.
Yes, yes, yes - please sign me up for the giveway ((and thank you))
mauimarried@hotmail.com
My prayer life could use some help.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds wonderful. I have heard so much about Beth Moore and haven't gotten any of her material yet.
ReplyDeleteMy prayer life is stronger now that I am not working. I am currently praying about what God wants of me next.
I would graciously appreciate you putting my name into this drawing.
Hope to see you at the SheSpeaks conference!
Sounds Great!! Please count me in. :) Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful, blessed giveaway! Thank you so much, and God bless you!
ReplyDeleteI am currently focusing on how much God wants to be involved in the details of my life and talking with Him about the little things in life as well as the big things.
ReplyDeleteI am also moving to a new city and praying specifically for new friends and for an easy transition.
What a great give away!
My prayer life has been rather,um, minimal lately and could use some help. I struggle to remember to intentionally pray outside of mealtimes and church and Bible studies.
ReplyDeletethe Lord has been drawing me near as I've gone through a little rough time, but our God is awesome. I pray with my kids at night and have brief little conversations with God throughout the day, but have been trying to make alone time with Him a priority. I need to set an alarm before the babies wake up! It's impossible any other way! Thanks for your giveaway! -Megan
ReplyDeleteWell, my prayer life could use a boost! One of my goals for this year has been to spend more undivided time in prayer and I love Beth Moore's studies. Please count me in and I hope I win!

ReplyDeleteI have a todder, and I'm always praying--I need prayer! My prayer life is stronger now that I have a child. It might not be as intense, but it is full of thanksgiving for my daughter and husband and I pray all the time!
ReplyDeleteI've just started Beth's "Stepping Up: Journey through the Psalms of Ascents". And I'm loving it!
ReplyDeleteMy prayer life could definitely use some improvement. I think this journal could help. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI really need to work on my personal prayer life. My desire is to be in communion with God each morning before the rest of my family arise.
ReplyDeleteI have seen both of these and wanted them, thanks for this great give away.
JOYfully in Him,
Kelli
Thanks for the contest!
ReplyDeleteCould certainly use more structure!

ReplyDeleteRegular prayer is one aspect of my life that suffers, when it should be one of the most important. Terrific giveaway. Thoughtful and helpful. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteLearning more and more all the time. I'm actually starting to pray like people I admire...cool how reading God's word does that for a person. :)
ReplyDeleteyes please, thank you. :)
oh...mousegirls (at) gmail (dot) com
Right now I am struggling to get up early enough (before my kids get up and we get caught up in the day to day stuff) to get a good quiet time in. That's the main part of my struggle. But even if I do get up early enough, I feel like I lack direction and focus in praying and reading, you know? I've been on the prowl for a good study guide or tool to help me pray and study in the mornings.
ReplyDeleteI pray every day, but often they are just momentary "arrow prayers." I'd love some structure and encouragement to keep track of my prayers.
ReplyDeletecaivanofamily[at]earthlink[dot]net
I need to set aside more prayer time. I would love this!
ReplyDeleteI would really appreciate winning this! I really am wanting a set to get back to praying regularily! I have heard so much about Beth Moore, and I would love to learn under her!
ReplyDeleteWhat a thoughtful and accountable giveaway!
Thanks for a super giveaway and your generosity! I have 3 contests going on right now, too...if you have the time.

What a tremendous prize!!!
ReplyDeleteMy struggle--discipline. I think about prayer more than I do it. I know the spirit speaks for me but I want to spend more quality time in prayer.
Thanks!
This is so nice and thoughtful, I would certainly enjoy it. Thank You!
ReplyDeletekpuleski at gmail dot com
I'm a middle of the roader, I guess. Some days I do great and get my prayer time and feel refreshed and some days I don't. I actually have been eyeing those cards to help me to use more scripture in my prayer, so this would be perfect for me! Thanks for giving this set away:)
ReplyDeleteI am a work in progress. I want to try to start praying through out the day and not just in the morning and at night. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI love Beth, too! It's amazing how God is using her!!
ReplyDeletemy prayer life..hmmm...I seem to be one of those who prays randomly all day. I really want to get into a routine of spending more time with the Lord first thing in the morning...these would help!
What a neat idea for a give-away!
ReplyDeleteI do not currently have a prayer journal, but I would love one. :)
My prayer life is mostly of the "prayer without ceasing" variety. Not to mean that I pray all the time but that I take little moments throughout the day to say a quick prayer about something or someone as God brings them to mind. I tend to pray most during my morning commute to work and in the evenings as I am lying in bed.
I could certainly use a more structured, consistent prayer routine. :)
God bless you,
Lydia

Oh...I absolutely love Beth Moore!!!! I am currently doing "A Woman's Heart" on my own with a few more studies waiting in the wings, her online Romans study plus her conference this spring!
ReplyDeleteMy prayer and devotional life lately has really been kicked up a few notches. I used to be a devoted pew-potato Christian, going nowhere fast! Now, with her encouragement (gotta love Wednesdays!), I really feel like I'm growing with the Lord, learning more about Him and loving Him more every day!!
Thanks for such a great contest!!!
Blessings from our Lord

What a great giveaway! My prayer life..I pray all day, but I make it a point to pray with my daughter each am before she goes to school. I have tried to teach her that she is never alone and that prayer is the best way to deal with anything that the day brings her way! I have been so blessed when I have watched her pray for her friends and her family members, even strangers...she has learned compassion and she has even seen her prayers answered when a little friend of hers was healed..she had leukemia! I think the book and cards would be a great way to continue our little prayer time!! thanks for such a great giveaway!!!
ReplyDeleteI definitely need to spend more time in prayer rather than sending up quick, harried and hurried prayers.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win! :)

ReplyDeleteOh I love this prize!
ReplyDeleteI would love this, it would be much more organized than the scrap pappers all over my work desk.
ReplyDeleteWow, I have done so many Beth Moore bible studies and I didn't know about this journal. I admit I do struggle with being consistant with my prayer life because of the many distractions of earth life. Thanks for your thougtfulness.
ReplyDeleteI am great at praying with/for my children, but lose focus on my own time. Thanks for the contest....I'd love to win. meg.wilson@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteThis looks like an incredible gift... I feel like I am closer to God and the furthest away I have ever been in my prayer life right now!!! I know that does not make any sense... I have had a very difficult year (07) and I pray constantly but no longer know what to say... hard to explain!
ReplyDeleteOhhhhh thank you for not ending on the 1st. I still have a chance to win this awesome gift.
ReplyDeleteI would love to win this.
