I apologize for the screaming pink and floral background you see today. I used it because I thought it would be cute for a Garden Blog Tour last month (which it was), but I have been so busy this summer that I just haven't had time to change it to something a little less BRIGHT.
Lucky me, though! I just recently won a blog header from Tekeme Studios, so whenever I get my questionnaire filled out for them, they can design me something AWESOME! I can't wait!!
So, maybe you can help me outwith ideas for my new look. I have a little poll posted in the top right sidebar about your blog-viewing preferences. Just a "click" and I'll have an idea what you, my sweet readers, would like to see here on my little blog. I promise it won't be hot pink flowers forever.
So why don't I get rid of the hot pink flowers now, you ask? Because reinstalling all my codes and widgets is just too much work for a girl to do in the summer! I'm afraid if I tackled that in this heat, I just might require the smelling salts :-)

Oh, yes. The prize. Well, summer is winding down, but it's not gone yet. So I have a little bag in colors that remind me of the ocean that I made myself, and one of you lucky readers will win it! Wanna see?

It's mostly made with a feathery kind of yarn that is soooo soft. When one of my coworkers looked at it, she couldn't keep her hands out of it: she loved the way it feels!

ReplyDeleteMy worst background. I had this bright purple one when I first started. It was supposed to be jewel toned, but when I loaded it it was so bright you couldn't see anything!
The worst blog background I've had is when I was messing around with templates and "doing it myself". Yeah, it was a dark blue, dusty dark blue and tan lettering, with red and green. Honestly, it was horrible!! Thank goodness I got some "bloggy intervention" when I did!

What a pretty bag! I just started my blog but in the beginning my words were too hard to read with my background color.

I'm laughing so hard. One of my blogs is just a generic blue blogger design. I actually had someone email me and scold me for my lack of creativity. I laughed so hard when I got that email. So I guess that would be my worst background story LOL.
ReplyDeleteI tend to choose blah backgrounds which don't offend, but then again, they're aren't punchy either! The worst blog I'd ever visited though was a problem not because of the background, but because of the font--it was entirely in this weird, scripty one that was never meant for text. It was nearly impossible to read, and although the content was interesting, I couldn't bring myself to visit again because it was SO hard to read!

ReplyDeleteI don't really like my current blog form. It doesn't convey what I am all about. But while playing around I tried a dark background, I think it was burnt turquoise or something. The writing didn't show up in any color other than white. It sounds soothing but it was awful and totally off base.

When my blog was on blogger I hated pretty much every background but I ended up using a seafoam/pea green combination for a while that was just ugh. It reminded me of being seasick on a smoggy day. I like my background and template now but I'm having issues with an anorexic sidebar so hopefully that'll change when I can afford a custom blog theme.

Our blog background is just the standard blue, not much to say about that. Guess we should look at updating. One of my pet peeves though is blog backgrounds that are way too busy. The eye needs somewhere to rest, especially if we want readers to make it through a lengthy post!

ReplyDeleteI don't blog in a blogspot sense, I only have a LiveJournal, but my worst background was a photo of a hockey player... I mean, the photo was nice and the hockey player is definitely fine to look at, but I just never quite figured out how to align it correctly for various screen resolutions. Now I just use the templates, but I don't post very much anymore anyway.
That bag is absolutely beautiful! I haven't carried a bag since I got rid of the diaper bag a few years back, but I'm ready to start again!

well i've only ever had two blogs before and the backgrounds always sucked there was this one time, when i was extremely new to the whole blogging thing, i put a black background and since all of the text was black....hehe so yeah i had to change it because almost nothing was visible
