I make the commitment, too

I read a post by Michael Hyatt of Thomas Nelson publishers today, and I agree wholeheartedly with him. It's his take on our next President and how we, as a nation, should respond. Go here to read what he has to say...

  1. I actually have mixed feelings about this. Yes, I want our nation to be united and go forward to solve problems, but I'm not willing to forsake what I believe is right in God's eyes to make that happen.

Yes, I will pray for our new president, believe for the best in and through him, honor him in the office he holds, and do whatever I can to help our country come together for good, but I won't support any attempt on his part to take us further from God. I will fight that for all I'm worth.

We can be friends and play nice, but I'll always stand up for the convictions of my heart, even if it means we aren't united in this nation. Hopefully, it won't be necessary to defend those convictions as I hope they won't be challenged by our new president or others in government.

  2. Yes, I agree. Many times, the negativity has nothing to do with any moral issue--then as Christians we appear bitter and cynical. I just need to always operate with love, compassion--while defending God's truth.

We are called to respect our authorities--and what does that teach our children if we are always blasting our president.

    God bless!
